Born to Die
01:57
|
|||
Selling my soul to make ends meet in a world that will not feed.
From the moment of my first breath, I received my death sentence.
The harsh truth. I'm fading away breath after breath.
I want assurance. Life after death.
Hope is the last thing I see. World full of confusion and disease.
One step forward. Three steps back.
Living in a society that says I'm trash.
How can I rise above when everything I have shows me no love.

The Pressure
02:12
|
|||
Knees buckle. Can't stand on your own.
One more sip, one more hit. One more night of regret.
Trapped in a constant state of confusion.
You say you want to change, but every time you come around I'm let down.
Why can't you keep your promise? Keep your promise!
When will you see what you're doing to yourself.
One day you'll witness the harsh truth of what you did when you don't wake up from what you called "fun".
I won't fall for the pressure or become what I despise.

Erase the Debt
02:00
|
|||
Can't cover their tracks anymore. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.
They should be dead for what they did to you.
They use their privilege to erase the debt. All we wait for, is for it to happen again.
Don't be blind to the truth. Stand up for those without a voice like you.
No justice, no peace. No more racist police.
Sixteen shots.

Confusion and Disbelief
01:32
|
|||
Looking back at me I see that I never really got it right.
I never stopped to think of you.
I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win
You are the antidote that gets me by,
Something strong like a drug that gets me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so
Cold to you, I'm sorry about all the lies,
Maybe in a different light,
You can see me stand on my own again
Cause now I can see
You are the antidote that got me by,
Something strong like a drug that got me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
I never meant to be, so cold
I never really wanted you to see
The screwed-up side of me
That I keep locked inside of me so deep,
It always seems to get to me
I never really wanted you to go
So many things you should have known
I guess for me there's just no hope;
I never meant to be so cold

Life's Questions
02:24
|
|||
All I've done for years is wish for this world to let up.
But it keeps turning and turning, leaving me with an empty cup.
This void deep down in my soul has yet to be fulfilled.
Is it something I'm overlooking? Or am I looking in the wrong place?
Taking a path without direction. I've tried the things of this world, left with empty hands.
I learned way too quick that this life is such a sad and unfulfilling joke.
God I'm searching. Are you there?
Is this cross your answer? Is it something I should bare.
Ever since I was young I never knew what to believe.
But now I'm coming to grips with reality.
